The Union Offering for Mamarapha College – 27th of August, 2016.
Mamarapha College is a key centre of influence for the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s ministry to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people A.T.S.I.M. Stories of lives changed lives can be read in the good news magazine atsim.org. Some individual stories are found below to help illustrate how God is moving among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The College is a tertiary Christian Bible College owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church offering Cert I up to Advanced Diplomas in Ministry and Health. The College has been and continues to be a venture of faith. Prior to 1997 efforts were made to receive global mission funding for 3 years in order to employ two workers and establish a training program specifically targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for the same period. At the end of this period, through careful and prayerful use of the global mission funds, a further year was embarked upon. 19 years later, five hundred students have engaged in training, 8 ordained ministers have graduated, more than 30 lay church leaders are serving the church across Australia, Mamarapha continues to be a centre that God uses to invite, train and grow disciples. It is our prayer that the upcoming offering will contribute significantly to the ongoing discipleship training and health and ministry resources in order to support “the project” of faith called Mamarapha College.
